Galway Water Crisis - A Lot Less Conversation…
Much More Immediate – and Realistic - Action!
The ongoing crisis regarding Cryptosporidium contamination of the water supply in Galway requires a significant increase in actual, immediate and realistic action to assist consumers there.
These consumers are under an unacceptable strain – through failure of a critical service which is now placing an unfair financial burden upon them due to this abysmal failure.
There is an onus on Galway County Council and Galway City Council to acknowledge this reality and the Consumers’ Association of Ireland calls upon them to - immediately - introduce a system of public supply of bottled water - free of charge to consumers.
It is unacceptable that consumers should be required to bear the cost of purchase of water or heating of a contaminated supply to render it suitable for safe and healthy consumption.
