Rented goods

Complaints about rented goods should be made to the rental company. If you are buying goods under a hire-purchase agreement, the retailer and the hire-purchase company are responsible for ensuring that the goods are all that they should be. If you buy goods with a personal loan from a finance company, the retailer is responsible for faults. You may also be able to complain to the finance company if it paid the money directly to the retailer. However, if you have used a credit card to purchase goods, the credit card company is not responsible to you for the goods.
